Renovation is active construction in your home. Bruce Interior Renovation manages trades, sequencing, quality checks, and communication so Adelaide projects stay as predictable as building conditions allow.

Before work starts

We confirm start date, access arrangements, parking, skip location, and any building approval references. Protective coverings go down; isolation barriers separate work zones from living areas where possible. A site contact number is posted for day-of questions.

On-site sequencing

Demolition and rough-in precede linings; wet-area membranes precede tile; joinery follows true walls and level floors. Deviations from sequence require reason — we do not tile before waterproofing inspection without approval.

Quality holds

  • Waterproofing inspected before tiling
  • Cabinet set-out verified against services
  • Electrical and plumbing tested before close-in
  • Stone templated after carcases installed and level

Variations on site: Unexpected conditions are documented with price and time impact before extra work proceeds. Verbal go-aheads without documentation are avoided.

Living through renovation

Dust, noise, and services outages are real. We schedule the most disruptive tasks considerately, maintain tidy work areas within reason, and communicate when water or power will be offline. Occupied renovations require patience from everyone; we respect that with preparation and punctual daily starts.

Supply and delays

Material delays happen — stone fabrication backlogs, custom glass, specialty tiles. When they affect critical path, we resequence other zones or adjust finish order and tell you early before install day.

Inspections

Where private certifier or council inspection is required, we coordinate timing and provide access. Failed inspections are remediated before cover-up; passing inspection records stay on your project file.

Approaching handover

Final weeks focus on fix-out, paint touch-up, hardware adjustment, and cleaning. We prepare for handover walkthrough with snag lists addressed proactively where possible.

Site safety and access

Renovation zones are segregated where practical. Trades follow induction rules for your property — pets, alarm codes, and parking constraints you specify are respected. We do not treat your home as an anonymous building site.

Dust, noise, and neighbours

We discuss working hours with you and strata where applicable. Dust containment and daily clean-up are part of occupied-home renovation — not client responsibility to manage alone. Courteous neighbour communication for shared walls is planned, not improvised.

Site meetings

Formal site meetings occur at key holds — waterproofing, set-out, pre-paint. Informal updates continue between. You always know the current critical path activity.

Weather and season

Adelaide summer heat affects curing times for membranes, adhesives, and paint. Extreme wet weeks delay external works. Program includes weather contingency; we communicate slip early.
