Step 04 · Handover
Final details before you move back in.
Walkthrough, snag closure, care instructions, and documentation you keep for warranty and future sale.
Handover marks practical completion — when your renovated spaces return to daily use with documentation, care guidance, and a clear path for warranty support. Bruce Interior Renovation treats close-out as seriously as demolition day.
We walk each completed area with you, demonstrating fittings, appliances interfaces, and any new controls. Snags noted during walkthrough are listed with target remedy dates. Minor paint or silicone items are typical; structural defects are not dismissed as normal.
Warranty: Workmanship warranty terms are stated in contract. Defect reports should include photos and description via connect@bruceinteriorrenovation.com.au for efficient scheduling.
New paint cures; stone sealers may need initial avoidance of harsh chemicals; grout benefits from gentle cleaning early. We explain manufacturer-specific guidance for your surfaces.
Cabinet doors settle; silicone may need cosmetic review after building movement. Warranty covers workmanship issues — not accidental damage or normal maintenance neglect. We respond to legitimate defect reports promptly.
Many clients stage renovation room by room. Handover is a natural point to discuss next priorities with knowledge of how our process worked in your household. No obligation — simply an open conversation if useful.
Handover packs typically include waterproofing photos where applicable, compliance certificates for electrical and plumbing work, paint and stone care notes, and warranty terms for workmanship. Keep these with your home records — future buyers and insurers ask for them.

Minor shrinkage cracks or adjustment periods for doors are normal in first seasons. Structural defects and failed waterproofing are not. Report concerns with photos and location; warranty response paths are in your contract and handover pack.
Practical completion means rooms usable for intended purpose. Minor paint defects may be scheduled for remedy without blocking occupancy where agreed.
Timber floors acclimate; stone sealers cure; silicone sets. Handover explains what to avoid in first weeks — not to limit enjoyment but to protect finish investment.
